Meet Marisa Marques Pereira, our dedicated Sales Support Administrator. For the past four years, she has been an essential part of our Sales team. Here's a closer look at her journey at Ettinger.
What is your role in the company and when did you start working for Ettinger?
Marisa, like several other members of our team, has been with Ettinger for a few years now, joining shortly after the lift of COVID restrictions in 2021.
As our Sales Support Administrator, she plays a key role in keeping our Sales team running smoothly, providing seamless operations and exceptional support. Marisa is also a polyglot, fluently speaking fives languages, which allows her to seamlessly communicate with retailers worldwide.
What led you to working in this field in the first place?
Unlike the London team members we've previously interviewed, who all had prior experience in their respective fields, Marisa took a different path. Originally from Portugal, she spent 10 years working in aviation, before moving to the UK with her family, where she found herself in search of a new work opportunity, which led her to Ettinger.
"It was quite a challenge, I must say. From being “in the air”, working with different teams all the time, to being in an office with the same team every day.
I was reading about the company and really liked what I saw regarding the company culture and products. I got excited about the prospect of working with Ettinger, as I particularly enjoy helping sales teams achieve their goals and improve their current results. I also saw a lot of great reviews about the products, and it made me want to be part of the company and join them in the luxury retail space."
What does a day at work look like for you?
As part of the Sales team, Marisa focuses her energy on business-to-business (B2B) strategies, presenting Ettinger's products to a carefully curated selection of retailers worldwide. These partners are meticulously chosen for their commitment to excellence, ensuring that our products are showcased in the finest stores. Her goal is to inspire them to display our collections in their physical stores and online platforms.
"My day to day basically includes building authentic, long-term relationships, creating personalised assistance with our customers, and delivering seamless, memorable experiences to help businesses to grow both sides simultaneously."
What do you enjoy about working at Ettinger?
"The philosophy of the company and the team."
Like many featured in our Ettinger Team Spotlights, Marisa once again highlights the strong team spirit of our Putney office. She especially appreciates the sense of continuity and connection, something she rarely experienced in aviation, where teams frequently changed.
"We all work closely with each other even though we are all in different departments. It’s like you can always learn something besides your position. It’s exciting! Having the opportunity to nurture a relationship with the team, it’s a great experience that I never had before. I feel that we all share a specific direction or guiding principle for the company and positively influence the company's public image.
Robert plays a crucial part as well! He keeps everyone motivated and he enjoys working with the team closely, which makes everyone’s input feel valued."
What are the changes you have seen in your years working at Ettinger?
Despite being known for its classic, quintessential British design, Ettinger remains modern and always explores new product ideas.
"Our products are our identity, and it's fascinating to see that, while Ettinger is one of the few remaining British luxury leather goods companies, we stay loyal to our DNA, while at the same time, exploring new product ideas to complement our identity and meet the needs and demands of our customers."
What is your favourite Ettinger product and why?
"My Hurlingham bag is a must! Whenever we travel, we usually end up packing too much or too little. With my Hurlingham Weekend bag it's so much easier.
