How would you describe Ettinger in 3 words? Timeless, Sophisticated, Luxury.

Your favorite Ettinger piece?  One of my favorite pieces is my Capra Green Passport Holder. It's not only beautiful in design, but the level of style and  quality always gives me a sense of confidence every time I take it out while traveling.

What is your favorite memory of Ettinger? One of my favorite memories of the brand was during my visit to the Gladson showroom, where I had the opportunity to checkout a variety of pieces from their product line. Experiencing the products in person truly changes one's appreciation; it’s a different experience altogether compared to viewing them online. I was also impressed by how the brand seamlessly connects each piece, creating a cohesive story that visually illustrates how Ettinger fits into one’s everyday lifestyle.

How did you discover Ettinger? I discovered Ettinger through a friend who owned a piece from the brand. I was immediately drawn to the sophistication and the attention to craftsmanship and detail. There was something tasteful about the piece that I just couldn’t forget.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? Maybe this is something that has already been done, but I would love to see Ettinger do leather watch straps. I think it would be a great complement to the brand and falls in line with what they’re already doing.

A final word? Ettinger is a brand that understands the needs of the customer, all will keeping the integrity of the brand. This is what continues to push their success.

Your favorite Ettinger piece? I absolutely love my leather Ettinger wallet, but the Bridle Hide Travel Shoe Horn is such a fun standout piece! I've received countless compliments on it. Its small size packs a big punch; anyone who sees it instantly falls in love. As the saying goes, "the devil is in the details," and this shoe horn truly embodies that sentiment. I believe every gentleman should have one in their collection.

What is your favorite memory of Ettinger? It’s always a pleasure speaking with Robert. Meeting him for the first time at the Ettinger dinner at Porter House was a delightful experience. I was pleasantly surprised by how approachable and friendly he was - qualities you don’t often encounter in someone of his stature. One of my favorite stories was when he shared how the Ettinger team worked tirelessly to prepare a piece for King Charles’ coronation.

How did you discover Ettinger? I first learned about Ettinger through Heather, and I’m so glad I did. There is immense potential for growth at Ettinger - this is just the tip of the iceberg. With the rising popularity of British brands in the U.S., there’s every reason to believe Ettinger can achieve 5 to 10 times its current growth. The brand already excels in key areas: tradition, a royal warrant, and exceptional products.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? I believe a leather backpack would do exceptionally well.

Your favourite Ettinger piece? The Capra Travel Pouch in Bordeaux! I carry it with me every time I travel, and use it to keep essential travel documents such as passports, train/plane tickets, and green card. I’ve received many comments at how beautiful it is when checking in at airports and hotels, and it is one of the go-to products that I recommend.

What is your favourite memory of Ettinger? Robert comes over to NYC once a year and it’s always so great arranging the intimate dinners with key contacts and friends of the Ettinger brand and seeing everyone's passion for Ettinger in real life.

How did you discover Ettinger? I first discovered Ettinger when I was living in London in the early 2000s, and was impressed by the quality and fun designs.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? I’d like to see a larger version of the Hunter Flask for hiking (or cocktails!), a dog collar and an Apple Watch strap.

How would you describe Ettinger in 3 words? Quintessential, English, Luxury.

Your favourite Ettinger piece? As someone with my own travel Series on TV and Streaming here in the US, I am never without my trusty Ettinger passport cover. Always easy to find -  even at the bottom of my bag when in a dash through Customs around the world and a lovely reminder of home when I see the familiar Ettinger logo and embossed with my initials. There is something very old school glamorously chic about leather goods with your initials ..and extremely Ettinger. This piece has travelled with me to SO many countries and is dear to me.

What is your favourite memory of Ettinger? My favorite memory of Ettinger has to be when I arrived back in London, from New York to cover the Wedding of William and Catherine, Prince and Princess of Wales… writing all my handwritten notes in my trusty Ettinger notebook. I fondly remember detailing the Alexander McQueen dress, and fashion intricacies of the ladies in the Royal entourage and all the elegantly attired invited guests -  to be used for my on air broadcast coverage for the major US News Networks and Harper’s Bazaar back in the States. My notebook was royal blue, very fitting and appropriate I thought, and still use it now!  In fact using it again for New York Fashion Week today. Another Ettinger favorite item , a true and dear accessory.

How did you discover Ettinger? My very first job, direct from University in Scotland was as an Editor on Country Life magazine . I became much more familiar with the brand then.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? I would love to see the brand design shoes and a riding boot. Very classic styles, cleverly designed and incredibly chic. Perhaps just 3 styles - one color way. A loafer for women, a classic lace up for men and a riding boot. Keeping the styling so quietly chic that the styles become highly desirable, coveted and cult among those in the know. And that with age and use, they become even more appealing and still as charming as when they were new.

Your favourite Ettinger piece? I have several accessory items from Ettinger that I use everyday, but my favourite and most useful is the Bridle Hide Notebook Case, which although it's only around 6.5x4.5 inches, seems to hold everything I need, from pen and notebook, to space for my business cards, transit schedule, receipts and the few odd paper clips I seem to collect every day.

What is your favourite memory of Ettinger? I first met Robert Ettinger when we did a short Zoom video several years ago and it was such a delightful experience I hoped we could meet when he was next in NYC. And we did. He invited me to lunch and I found him the most agreeable companion imaginable. Soft-spoken and full of sly humor, insightful, intellectually curious. I hope to have the pleasure of his company again before too long.

How did you discover Ettinger? I first discovered Ettinger years ago when I happened to stroll into one of my favorite mid-town shops - I like to think I have a certain charisma as a shopper - and happened to notice a new vitrine containing a dozen or so wallets and other small leather cases. What struck my eye was the soft sheen of the exterior leather, colored in deep green, bright red, yellow, and nut brown, each one set off by the same leather interior in a light brown shade I believe is called London tan. I asked if I might see one of the wallets and, once in my hands, it felt as smooth and glossy as vintage port. I snatched up the green one before they sold out.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be?  I would almost consider it an impertinence to make suggestions to these design masters who have exceeded my wishes in the field of small leather accessories. I do note that their pen cases are all double. Perhaps a single pen case might be nice?

Your favorite Ettinger piece? A Passport Case with Monogram: I use it often; it makes me feel elegant and pampered.

What is your favorite memory of Ettinger? Recently discovering quite by accident that a photo of me from 30 years ago is included in a beautiful book the company distributes: A Family Affair Since 1934.

How did you discover Ettinger? At a trade show in Birmingham, England, 30 years ago.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? A small collection of simple, classic women’s handbags.

A final word? This company is the real thing: true luxury without being ostentatious or overpriced. You’re paying for top materials and exceptional craftsmanship, not for fancy designer logos. 2. I love that their staff receives a percent of profits as an annual bonus. And finally, a global brand that is actively involved in the local community is very rare indeed! All this plus the Royal Warrant to HRH the Prince of Wales - what more can I say? Ettinger is Elegant, Enviable, and Extraordinary in every way!

How would you describe Ettinger in 3 words? Practical, Dependable, Beautiful.

Your favourite Ettinger piece? My Ettinger Bridle Hide Coat Wallet, in Nut/London tan. It's such a beautiful object that it takes the sting out of picking up a tab!

What is your favourite memory of Ettinger? When my son was born, I managed to sneak an Ettinger Capra Hunter Flask into our hospital room. Thanks to its collapsible cups - and the several ounces of Dalmore 12 it held - I was able to toast our new addition while he slept in the bassinet.

How did you discover Ettinger? From browsing its range at The Armoury in New York City. From the first moment I saw its bags, wallets and flaks in situ, I knew I'd have to own one.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? I'd love to see a good cigar case!

A final word? Beautiful, well-made things give me joy. There's too much disposable junk and ugliness in the world today, and Ettinger is fighting the good fight by producing objects that not only serve their utilitarian purpose but grow better with age and reward proper care.

Your favourite Ettinger piece? Over the years, I've had the opportunity to collect a couple of pieces from Ettinger and while it's hard to decide which one is my absolute favourite, between my passport case, the piece I always travel with, my travel shoe horn, I must say. the one I get the most usage out of is my trusted Bridle Hide Pouch. This has been with me through thick and thin, rain, snow, you name it. This piece is the piece I've had for years and really represents to me what Ettinger is about. Beautiful product, lasts long and looks good.

What is your favourite memory of Ettinger? I would have to say, while I enjoy the parties, and they throw some great parties, what is most memorable for me was meeting Robert Ettinger. That, to me was a true pleasure, to talk to him and to learn more about the brand, the passion, and the true essence of the company. Something that I will truly cherish, it makes each piece a little bit more precious.

How did you discover Ettinger? I discovered Ettinger during my journey to find quality leather goods. I looked it up, I looked at different brands and there was something special about Ettinger, something very classic, very clean in terms of the lines. It really resonated with me.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? Is there such a thing? Can you guys do anything else? I think that maybe it would have to be a cross between multiple things. I like the idea of having something that I carry with me every day, so if there is a way to do something, maybe a smaller pouch that you can carry every day, but a little different.

Your favourite Ettinger piece? The Pursuits Piccadilly Canvas Tote is my go-to bag. Its versatility allows me to use it for day-to-day activities, work, and for travel. The response I get when carrying my personalized bag is genuine admiration.

What is your favourite memory of Ettinger? I always look forward to events with Ettinger, but the one that really stands out was our most recent with Robert Ettinger himself at the Cad & The Dandy. The Cad & The Dandy have an intimate upstairs showroom which was the ideal setting for highlighting Ettinger's handcrafted luxury leather goods. Sampling fine whiskies from the Lagavulin distillery with great people, while listening to Robert Ettinger speak about the 90 years of history and heritage made for a lovely evening in NYC.

How did you discover Ettinger? I initially became aware of Ettinger via social media, Instagram to be specific. Through following menswear fashion pages, I began to see beautiful Ettinger items such as wallets, card cases, and briefcases. But where I started to truly discover the brand was through the work of Heather Falconer, as we partnered together for sampling events throughout New York. These events have not only expanded my knowledge and understanding of the brand, but given me a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship and heritage of this family owned brand.

If Ettinger designed a new product, it would be? I would love to see a canvas tote/weekender with a padded laptop compartment. Creating a modern twist on a classic piece!?

A final word? It is so great to work with a brand with so much history that is still family owned. Every interaction I have had with Ettinger (both the person and the products) has felt very personal and sincere.
